Course Description
In February 2025, Oswego County, New York, experienced a historic winter storm that delivered nearly 100 inches of snow in four days, creating significant structural, operational, and human service challenges. This webinar presents a focused case study of the county’s multi-week Emergency Operations Center activation, highlighting interagency coordination, situational awareness practices, and resource management considerations. The session will review the use of GIS and Survey123 for data collection and situational tracking, the integration of volunteer and state partners, and approaches for addressing community assistance needs. Participants will gain practical insights applicable to managing complex winter weather incidents and supporting coordinated response and recovery operations.
