Course Description

Background

Local Health Departments (LHDs) are charged with providing Point of Dispensing (POD) operations to their local jurisdictions in the event of an incident requiring preventative or post-exposure interventions.   The safety of LHD staff and volunteers is paramount during these operations, causing many questions to be raised in the preparation for POD activities.

To address these planning considerations, LHDs will be required to participate in one (1) webinar offering in the second quarter providing information on safety considerations for POD workers, including volunteers.

Goal

This webinar will provide LHDs with information and understanding of the safety considerations surrounding POD operations.  Additionally, the webinar will target common questions and concerns of POD staff and volunteers.

Target Audience

Preparedness Representatives, Logistics staff, POD volunteers, other staff who are responsible for Emergency Preparedness within their public health agency.
