Human Trafficking Awareness: Identifying Victims and the New York State Referral Process

Human trafficking takes many forms and impacts people across communities.  In response, New York State has developed an Inter-Agency Task Force on Human Trafficking which has developed guidelines to increase awareness and assist in the identification, confirmation and referral of human trafficking victims.  Specific learning objectives include:

  • Participants will have a greater understanding of human trafficking, existing state and federal laws and regulations, and its impact;
  • Training will assist participants in identifying potential victims of human trafficking; and
  • Participants will understand the New York State Referral Process and be able to complete the referral process.
