Course Description
To operate an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) commercially, individuals must obtain a Remote Pilot Airman Certificate by passing the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Aeronautical Knowledge Test. This comprehensive course is designed to cover all examination competencies required for the Part 107 remote pilot license.
The curriculum focuses on critical operational areas, including:
- Regulations: Federal mandates and constraints governing small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS).
- National Airspace System: Airspace classifications, restrictions, and operational requirements.
- Aviation Weather: Interpretation of weather sources and the atmospheric effects on UAV performance.
- Loading and Performance: Weight, balance, and structural integrity calculations.
- Operations: Emergency procedures, aeronautical decision-making, and airport operations.
Ultimately, this certification process verifies that commercial remote pilots possess the skills necessary to safely execute flight operations, interpret intricate aeronautical charts, interface effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) during emergencies, and remain compliant with both general aviation standards and UAS-specific mandates
The student is responsible to schedule their own FAA license exam after completion of this program. All FAA exam fees are the responsibility of the individaual student.
