This (IN-PERSON ONLY) course is the standard training module for all individuals who work with any type of public water system, including transient non-community water systems, such as those at permitted facilities. The target audience(s) for this course include all engineers and all other staff involved in public water supply work (sanitarians, public health technicians, etc.). Through lecture, discussion, and a field exercise, the course provides an overview of sanitary survey procedures, field-review aspects of non-community and community water supply regulations, and technical aspects of groundwater sources, treatment, and distribution systems. Students should have completed EH 109 (Concepts of Water Supply) of the Basic Environmental Health Program (BEHP) or have had some mentored field experience and introduction to public water system regulations prior to taking the 'Sanitary Surveys of Ground Water Systems course.
*12 hours of Professional Engineering Continuing Education Credits will be awarded for completion of this course.
