There are more than two million breast cancer survivors in the United States and much of that success can be attributed to modern medicine and early detection efforts. In fact, when caught early, the five year breast cancer survival rate is over 90%. This is why it’s crucial to stay up to date on recent advancements in diagnostics, treatment, and management. During this training, program faculty will present the latest findings in these areas.
Objectives:
- Discuss the importance of breast cancer screening.
- Explain how to manage abnormal CBE results and/or breast complaints.
- Explain how to interpret the mammogram report.
- Identify when a surgical consult is needed.
- Discuss methods to diagnose breast cancer.
- Discuss recent changes in management/treatment of breast cancer.
Target Audience: Nurses, social workers, physicians, oncologists, radiologists, OB/GYNs, any medical professional working with breast cancer patients.
