Course Description

This is the 1st webinar in a 2-part series.  This 90-minute webinar introduces the 2016 Official American Thoracic Society/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Infectious Diseases Society of America Clinical Practice Guidelines: Treatment of Drug-Susceptible Tuberculosis and highlight the development process, the key changes in recommendations, and discuss the evidence supporting the changes. The didactic presentations will be followed by a discussion period with the ATS, CDC, and IDSA guidelines co-chairs.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the process and rationale for the recommendations in the 2016 Official American Thoracic Society/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/Infectious Diseases Society of America Clinical Practice Guidelines: Treatment of Drug-Susceptible Tuberculosis and use this information to guide clinical decision-making
  • Apply the new treatment guidelines in their own clinical practice, resulting in improved patient outcomes.
