Course Description
When the World Comes to Us: Preparing for Disease Importation During Peak Travel & Events
- Understand how tourism and migration affects every sector—from ERs to SNFs and urgent cares
- Encourage and apply travel screening across all intake points
- Identify relevant infectious diseases
- Understand global health trends and increasing antimicrobial resistance rates
- Identification of misinformation and combating the spread of
- Understand the importance of vaccination and implementation in inhibiting the spread of infectious diseases
- Implement methods that consider vulnerable populations such as immigrants, pregnant individuals, and varying sexual orientation
- Identify initial response measures
- Encourage global surveillance, especially within high-tourism areas
